NISAPI was created in 2007 to highlight and promote the training originally developed at the Houston Galveston Institute. NISAPI’s legacy is to ensure these ideas developed in the 1980s continue to live and flourish. We believe these ideas are necessary to prevent people from being bound to illness narratives and for our field to learn options to promote wellness.
We provide naturalistic and nurturing environments of equine, outdoor therapy and “in person” via peoples’ gardens, offices, and Telehealth therapeutic services in Los Angeles County, California. In this manner, we utilize the art of “with-ness.” Despite where we are we provide safe and nurturing spaces.
We offer training to post-graduate learners, and licensed service providers or those in ancillary services such as lawyers and social workers who collectively participate within collaborative-dialogical practices and collaborative recovery models of community-based services.
We provide self-tailored learning and a certificate program with the International Certificate in Collaborative-Dialogical Practices (ICCP) and a Certificate in Community Engagement A Collaborative Recovery Model. In addition, we provide accredited online continuous educational units (CEU’s).
